Promises

No matter how far down the scale we have gone,
we will see how our experience can benefit others.
That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear. . .
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us
what we could not do for ourselves.

I'm Jeanie, an alcoholic.

I was relieved when at last I finally understood that no matter how far down the scale we've gone our experience can benefit others. I thought I never had a thing to offer anyone, so just giving away what I've been given will help me stay sober was a revelation. The Big Book says self-pity will disappear! I never imagined that could happen to me. And we also learn that there's hope if you are convinced that God can remove whatever is blocking you off from Him. That is an awesome promise that has been proved over and over again. He is doing for me what I thought would never happen. I was sure I was too far-gone and too evil to have anything positive in my life -- and now I also have all of you! What a gift too good for words!
