Making Amends

Step Eight: "Made of list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all."

I don't believe I need apologize for being human;
rather, I simply need to acknowledge that I was at fault
and humbly ask to be pardoned.
I do not need to make amends on my hands and knees;
I need to walk tall, without false pride.
They, too, may have been at fault,
but I am neither their God nor their conscience.
I am responsible only for myself.
